Todays post is on the shorter side. Originally I had planned to share with you my visit to a traditional Chinese herbal medicine doctor, however, while I was uploading photos something went awry and I lost the majority of what I had typed up. Now that I’m running short on time we’ll just talk breakfast.
No oats this morning. I kept breakfast on the simple side with a sliced banana over plain yogurt with a drizzle of roasted almond butter.
Along with a cup of juice.
Todays mix was just spinach, pineapple, and ginger. Easy peasy, but very delicious.
Mint would have been a nice addition.
I love how pineapple and spinach get so foamy. The layers and foam always remind me of a latte, but a juice version.
Next post I’ll talk more about my Chinese Medicine visit!
Hope your day is great!
I finally made it home yesterday after many many hours on the road. Too many and boy am I glad to be back and eating the foods I love. Road trip food is fun to eat – to an extent. Then you just start missing your usual foods from home.
So without further ado here’s what I ate Wednesday!
I made sure to get up early this morning to make it to the gym for a cardio strength workout class. After sitting in the car for almost 2 days I wanted nothing more than to get in a good sweat sesh. Mission accomplished.
After my workout and a quick shower, I had just enough time to blend something up before heading off to my eye appointment. Actually I was totally late to my eye appointment, thanks to my shake. But it was totally worth it
[8 ice cubes, 1 packet chocolate protein powder, 1/2 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk, 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk]
After my eye appointment and a couple errands, it was lunch time!
My dad had a strawberry waffle at the waffle house yesterday morning on our drive home and I wanted one for myself so that’s exactly what I had. And mine was wayyy better. Just sayin’
[kodiak cake mix + strawberries mixed into the batter - topped with more strawberries and a drizzle of manuka honey]
Lunch was followed up by snacks of all sorts.
[chocolate cat cookies]
[sliced bananas with a dollop of sunbutter]
[a couple strawbs from the tub]
[roasted tea]
[chocolate fudge pop]
Then came dinner. Finally.
[brown rice, sea bass, sautéed spinach, tofu, massaged kale, beets, roasted cauliflower, white beans, mushroom, and cherry tomatoes]
Followed up with a a handful of cherries from this bowl.
And a block or two [or three...] of dark chocolate.
[the one on the right]
Now I’m off to unpack my duffle, finish up laundry, and pack up my suitcase because tomorrow I’ll be off once again!
Sooo behind on school+readings+hw thing and must get working on that too.
It’s always exciting to move. Even if it’s just virtually. I spent most of my day tidying up and re-decorating the place for y’all
I know there are still some things that need to be done (like re-loading some missing photos) but I hope it’ll be all done soon.
I got off to kind of a late start this morning when I hit snooze one too many times and then eventually accidentally hit the ‘ok’ button instead of snooze, which turned off my alarm. Luckily my internal alarm woke me up about 5 mins before I needed to be on my way. I quickly got up, brushed my teeth, washed my face, threw on my workout clothes and headed to they gym just in time for my Monday morning ‘strength stability stretch class’.
I love getting workouts done in the morning. 1) It wakes up my muscles and makes me feel active the rest of the day. 2) I don’t have to think about working out the rest of the day. 3) They pass by quickly because I’m so excited to go home to eat breakfast.
Once I got home I made myself a smoothie with a new strawberry protein packet I’ve been meaning to try out.
What? No chocolate? Yeah, I figured I should probably try something new. Don’t worry though. I’m sure chocolate will return tomorrow
After my first taste I actually didn’t want to eat, er…drink, any more because there was such an overwhelming stevia taste. I’ve never really been a fan of stevia, but since I didn’t want to waste it I went ahead and kept eating. Eventually I got used to the stevia taste and it ended up tasting just like a strawberry banana milkshake.
There’s just something about stevia that just makes my tastebuds retreat. It’s almost like a sickeningly sweet feeling. I think I’ll just be sticking to my favorite protein powder from now on.
Ok, I think I’ve spent enough time on the computer/blog today. Apparently I still have many glitches to work through so I’ll try to get to those soon.
