Happy Saturday Friends!!
If you were planning on getting in a workout anytime soon, whether it be a simple walk, yoga, or HIIT, just doo it. It might be hard to get out of bed in the mornings, especially if it’s still dark out, but I promise that once you’re through, you’ll be SOO glad you did it. And and added bonus: you’ll feel super energetic.
Ok, so now that I have that out of my system…where were we? Oh yes, I kinda haven’t been on here in over a week. yikes.
Last week (I’m back in TX already), I went to southern California for a couple days specifically to ‘visit’ to my grandparents. They’re both buried at Forest Lawn - Glendale and we headed out there to pay our respects.
While we were in cali, we stayed in the Newport area and I had the opportunity to run down to the Crystal Cove State Park in the mornings which was amaaazing. So jels of everyone who lives near a beach all the time.
Your running views are awesome.
Morning workouts were followed up with smoothies from Nékter Juice Bar. holy yum.
Left: Tropical Cooler - spinach, kale, pineapple, banana, coconut butter & coconut water
Right: Date Nut Smoothie – raw vanilla bean cashew nut milk, dates, banana & nutmeg blended with ice
The date nut smoothie is not the type of drink I would typically choose, but I was feeling like something sweet and this totally hit the spot. It tasted just like banana bread, but in smoothie form.
My cousin, sister, and I were lucky enough to get to visit Disneyland & California Adventure one day (thanks to our friend who works there!).

The sis and I haven’t been to Disneyland in over 6 years and over 8 for California Adventure, so we were quiiite excited.
After hitting up all our favorites in Disneyland, we headed over to California Adventure to check out Cars Land.
Holy crap people. Cars Land is amaaazeballs. I couldn’t get over how detailed and intricate the town and rides were. I felt like I was actually in Radiator Springs. They had everything from the Cozy Cone Motel to Flos V8 Cafe and even the Canyon. (To see more, click here)
My two favorites rides were Radiator Springs Racer and Luigi’s Flying Tires.
Luigis Flying Tires was bumper cars taken to the next level. Up to three people sit on a giant tire and in order to move you lean in the direction you want to go. You’re basically on a giant air hockey table and the tire you’re sitting on just floats across the surface in the direction you want to go. So crazy.
We wrapped up our short trip with a stop at Brodard’s (on our way to the airport), a vietnamese restaurant in Orange County, where they have the most delicious spring rolls.
And two last things I tried while in Cali.
One was salted iced coffee and the other was mixing my green vibrance into zico.
I don’t recommend either.
The salted iced coffee is apparently a really popular thing from 85 Bakery Cafe in Irvine, but I guess salty + sweetened coffee isn’t my thing. (side note: their breads are really delicious though!) And the whole mixing zico with the green vibrance packet was just a bad idea in general. Coconut water is definitely not strong enough in flavor to hide the ‘earthiness’ of green vibrance powder. blech.
That about wraps it up! Hopefully next time I’m back on here will be in less then a week.
Have a great weekend!!
What’s you favorite kind of juice or smoothie?

Sounds like a great trip! It’s nice that you got a chance to go pay your respects to your grandparents.
Those beach views are gorgeous, wish I lived near something like that! And the spring rolls look amazing
what app do you use for running?
The one I used for that day was run keeper. It works pretty well and another plus is it’s free!
