One of the things I love most about Hawaii is that even when its cloudy and rainy for days, it’s still a gorgeous place.
It’s not just randomly called the rainbow state
Since the beginning of 2013, 6 days, I’ve seen over 12 rainbows. Two of them being double rainbows. I do have to report that no pots of gold have been found. Yet.
Speaking of rainbows, I’ve also been eating the rainbow.
Some not so healthy.
But mostly the healthier stuff. I’m in fruit heaven.
And my current fave:
Papaya with plain greek yogurt and a sprinkling of chia.
So deliciously creamy and sweet.
I’m surprised at the staying power of this papaya + yogurt combo since it totally kept me full throughout the hike/run/walk combo I did later that morning.
Originally I had planned to go to koko head, but the rain and wind kind of changed my plans for me. I drove out to Koko Head only to see it surrounded by clouds and a light drizzle and ended up driving a bit further, about 5-10 mins down the road to Makapu’u Point Lighthouse where skies were fairly clear and roads were dry.
The rain may not have been coming down there, but that didn’t mean it wasn’t windy.
You can tell by the clothes on my hike buddy, aka my brother, and by the choppiness of the ocean that the winds were a blowin.
It’s still fairly windy, but the random rain and drizzle has mostly subsided so perhaps I’ll eventually make it out to Koko head before I leave this colorful island.
Have a good night y’all!
What colors of the rainbow have you been eating lately?

I have always adored rainbows, ever since I was a child, they just look sort of magical
All of that food looks delicious, healthy and less healthy!
Your walk looks great, I need to go on more walks. I haven’t been eating enough rainbow food lately, I miss all of the fresh fruit of the summer months, that papaya looks fantastic!
Oh what I wouldn’t give to be in Hawaii right now! Not only to get away from the snow, but to be able to enjoy all the fresh, delicious fruit! Lately it’s been all about purples, reds, yellows, greens, and oranges for me. Blueberries, bananas, apples, salads, tomatoes, carrots, and tonnes of watermelon
