Hi friends!
I hope everyone’s having a lovely and relaxing Sunday!
Last week I was lucky enough to make a trip out to one of my favorite places…
Honolulu, HI.
And since I haven’t blogged in a while, I made sure to take some photos to share…
{some of which i’ve already shared via instagram}
Evening settling in over the ocean
Spicy furikake crusted ahi with brown rice and halo greens at one of my favorite places: Kaka’ako Kitchen
Morning walks along the beach
Followed up with iced coffee at Honolulu Coffee Co.
Lots of pool and sun time
Wasabi masago ahi poke bowl on a mix of salad and brown rice from Pa’ina Cafe
Mai Tai from Mai Tai bar
An obligatory visit to Liliha Bakery
A swim with dolphins
and turtles
and a boat ride along the coast
An early morning hike up Diamond Head.
A visit to the popular KCC Farmers Market with lots and lots of local goodies:
freshly brewed coffee
sweet potato everything!…from mochi to cookies.
island fruits & veggies
Oatcakes
Mini pineapples
Raw vegan snacks
Local grass-fed beef
Abalone anyone?
pretty vibrant flowers
Fun foods
Green juices
Acai bowls
And that was just a handful of the many stands at the market.
I went home with Gerbera daisies and Malie chocolates
Many rainbows were seen
no pots of gold were found unfortunately
Acai Cup from Blue Hawaii Lifestyle
Soba sushi from Shirokiya’s upper level food hall.
A visit to Amuse wine bar
Hawaii Five-0 filming sighting!
Anyone watch that show??
If so, this car should look familiar…
Chase scene in the making
A view of the filming from above
Ono sandwiches from Kua’aina
Lot’s of coffee throughout the week
Early morning at Hanauma Bay
Another visit to Pa’ina Cafe for a salmon poke salad bowl
Followed up with a visit to Bubbies for their delicious homemade ice cream:
ddccc (double dark chocolate chocolate chip) + mint chocolate chip
Beautiful sunsets
And finally, a visit is not complete without a loco moco
Two eggs over a local grass fed beef patty sitting on a bed of brown rice with a side of mac salad.
{Usually smothered in gravy, but mine came on the side}
Not very photogenic, but super tasty.
Lastly…while we’re on the topic of Hawaii, there’s a great article this month in Travel + Leisure Magazine about Hawaii and it’s up and coming food movement. It’s definitely becoming more and more of a foodie city, which is super exciting!
Hope you enjoyed my photos!

Looks like you are having an awesome time!! I’ve never been to Hawaii before but would loooovee to!
