bikini body max burn fun

Hi friends!

I hope you’re all doing well!

I finally made it to Asia after what was literally a 24 hour trek (if you count the time I left my house). Why is Hong Kong soo far away?

Today is actually my second day here and I would have blogged sooner, but I was at my grandma’s all day yesterday and crashed when I got back around 11:30pm. The time difference between HK and Texas works out perfectly so that I never really get jet-lagged. I just go to bed before midnight and get up around 7am at the latest. I love getting up early and getting in that workout first thing.

Hong Kong is actually my favorite place to work out. The place where I stay has a great outdoor area to run (flat areas, downhill slopes, uphill slopes, etc.), but the gym is by far my favorite. They play great music, there are never too many people, and the overall set up is just what I like.

The weight room is full free weights (my fave!), but since I already did weights yesterday I wanted to make today a cardio day. Sometimes I dread cardio days so this morning I looked for a fun way to mix it up.

Lately I’ve been really impatient and can barely stay on the treadmill for over 15 – 20 consecutive mins, so I found a fun workout from tone it up that breaks up the runs making it a lot less mundane. I did a variation of their bikini body max burn pyramid which looked like this:

5 min warmup on treadmill
- 3 mins walking at 5 incline
- 2 mins jogging at 6.5 km/hr

20 jumping jacks

20 plyometric squats w/5lb weight

20 lunges

5 min interval jog/run
- 30 secs at 10.5 km/hr
-30 secs at 13.7 km/hr
-1 min 30 secs at 10.5 km/hr
-30 secs 14.5 km/hr
-2 mins at 10.5 km/hr

 10 pushups

10 tricep dips

20 lunges

5 min interval jog/run
- 45 secs at 10.5 km/hr
- 30 secs at 14.5 km/hr
- 1 min 45 secs at 10.5 km/hr
- 30 secs 15.3 km/hr
- 1 min 30 secs at 10.5 km/hr

1 min 15 second plank
[20 seconds plank on hands + 20 tummy tucks + plank for remaining time]

5 min interval jog/run
- 45 secs at 10.5 km/hr
- 30 secs at 15.3 km/hr
- 1 min 45 secs at 10.5 km/hr
- 30 secs 15.3 km/hr
- 1 min 30 secs at 10.5 km/hr

20 bicycle crunches

10 burpees

And that’s it! Really fun, I promise!

Then I hopped onto a bike for 20 mins
(alternating 1 min 30 seconds high intensity with 2 mins moderate pace)

And and finished up with 10 more burpees.

Breaking up the runs makes it so.much.better, plus it lets me up the intensity level. I love how I actually have more energy after these types of workouts than before I started.

After my workout I made a quick cheese and jelly sandwich which I ate on my way over to the Australia Dairy Company for a cup of HK style milk tea.

Half the jelly actually ended up on my shoe during my walk over, but it was still super yum.
Laughing cow cheese + strawberry jelly should be bffs. Just saying.

The milk tea at the Australia Dairy Co. is super strong, as in, if I drink it after noon, I’ll probably be up all night, but it’s just the way I like it. Plus, it has a really silky and smooth texture that a lot of other teas don’t have.

In addition to my steaming cup of tea I had half a bowl of an egg white custard.

Now I’m about to make a quick lunch and head out to see some fam and friends.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend! :)

What’s your go-to cardio?

  1. I coul never stop after eating half a bowl of anything! I have this all or nothing mentality :D Enjoy your stay in Hong Kong, I wish I could ever travel to such a distant places, it must be a really beautiful city. Your workout sounds tough but enjoyable :) I like milk tea, but it is usually pretty strong, that´s for sure :)

    • haha, believe me, usually I can’t either. I’m not sure what stopped me. Probably the fact that my milk tea arrived at the table ;)

  2. Sounds like a fantastic workout!
It also sounds like you had a great place to workout in :-)
And cheese and jam sandwiches are some of my favourites, I’m going to have to have one of those tomorrow I think!
